The Choices We Make
A new year and another new start!
January always brings an opportunity to review our previous year and make some changes (if necessary) to do it better this new year.
I learned a long time ago, that the choices you make determine the life you lead and the business you run.
What choices would you make in your life and in your business in 2011 if you knew you could not fail?
I have heard allot of real estate agents in Houston complaining just how bad the real estate market is/was thanks to the downturn of the economy. Some experts say that 2011 will be more of the same while others believe that this summer or fall we will start making our way back.
If the majority of your business was dependent on first time home buyers or buyers with credit challenges (certainly the life blood of our industry) who are having trouble qualifying for a loan, maybe it is time for you to find a new specialty or become more of the solution for these clients. There are several credit repair companies that we have profiled in past issues (ie; Improve My Credit USA in May 2010 and Allied Credit Solutions in July 2010. You can still read their profiles in their digital editions on our website at www.PremierAgentMagazine.com Too many transactions are “busting out” at closing for a variety of reasons. Let’s start educating the clients to qualify for the loan before we find them the home.
This month’s cover honorees, Cory & Milly Kammerdiener of Newhomeprograms.com specialize in that very client. They do a fantastic job of working with the clients that have more than their share of credit skeletons in the closet and help them qualify for the loan
and find the down payment assistance and/or grants to get them in a new home regardless of the odds against it. You might remember Milly has having been recognized in the December issue as one of Houston’s brightest “Rising Stars’.
Milly and Cory more than qualify for this month’s cover honor!
In the “spotlight” this month are profiles on Edward Kampf and Mike Ruiz of Hancock Mortgage Partners, LLC. Ed was profiled in REE and both Mike and Ed are two of my favorite people in the mortgage business. Both are “Class Acts” and people that I would turn to for my mortgage needs.
As always,
Good Reading, Good Sales and Happy New Year!
